When it comes to their teenybopper pop albums, Mandy Moore could be considered the least successful among the four main players in the solo teen girl pop music mania of the early 2000s.  Still, “So Real“, which was her debut album, managed to sell nearly one million copies and be certified as platinum in the US, which is why she’s considered a celebrity and why she’s had a string of follow-up albums since then.  Those albums also aren’t as best-selling as Britney’s or Christina’s but an area where she’s succeeded where the others really haven’t so far is in the acting arena.  Ever since her movie debut in the 2002 adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel, “A Walk To Remember“, Mandy More has been appearing regularly on the big screen, something Britney has done only once, Christina never at all, and Jessica only sporadically.

Because of her movie career, there’s always a chance we’ll get to see Mandy Moore naked, as she further matures as an artist and hopefully takes on some daring and sexy roles.  Her music has been more daring and mature after all, as she’s totally stepped away from the pop sound that defined her early albums, and has done more alternative-sounding and introspective albums, starting with her “Coverage” albums which saw her cover classic songs from artists like Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell.  Those later albums don’t sell as well as her earlier pop stuff, but boy, do they sound better!  And Mandy Moore is also looking good as she matures, sometimes going brunette with a shorter cut, but always looking like the girl-next-door every guy’s in love with.
